Today during my lunch break I ate my diet meal and then walked a mile on the treadmill. My legs are a bit tired. Good! The first week I walked half a mile on the treadmill. Last week I walked 3/4 of a mile three out of five days. My legs didn't get tired at all. I've got the pace up to where I don't quite get out of breath so I won't trigger my asthma. That seems to be 2.8 miles per hour. My heart beat is at the high end of weight loss for my age, bordering on aerobic. I'm pretty pleased with myself. It makes sitting at that computer most of the day at this temp job not so bad. I've noticed that when I do the treadmill, I'm more awake for the afternoon than if I don't walk.

I probably should get a gym bag and take exercise clothes because I'm doing this in my work clothes and I'm getting a bit sweaty. Eh, I'm wearing all clean clothes every day and showering every day. I use deodorant. Shouldn't be a problem. It's old sweat that stinks.

I did it in less than 25 minutes. Not bad for a fat girl! :)

yayyyyyyyyyyyy way to go Linda! Do you have a tredmill at home or do you go to a fitness centre to walk on it?

It(s best to build it up. That's how i did it too. Now i'm walking a km (3/4 mile) but some days i don't make that full km, i have to stop early. Just do it at your own speed and build up from there.

It's at work. Another positive! There was a gym at NASA that I went to the trouble to get a doctor's approval to use but all I ever did there was a couple of Pilates classes. It was intimidating with all those military people working out all the time. This place is filled with ordinary people like me. :)

Congratulations! I need to lose 50 pounds, not only for looks but for cholesteral/blood pressure. I've been dragging on starting the diet and exercise, though; your entry inspired me!

Thanks! I'm healthier in the cholesterol/blood pressure area than I should be according to my doctor. I'm hoping to get that blood sugar back into the healthy category.

Hurrah!!!

They did a study where if you can exercise after lunch, it greatly improves your awareness and your energy level. Way cool!

I'm really glad that things are looking so well for you, love....

It would be nice to have exercise clothes, just to have that "exercise" mindset...but not necessary. :)

You are going to reach your goal in no time if you keep up the smart eating AND the healthy exercising.

Huge kudos to you! I bet you look AWESOME!

K.

OH, no.

I think you still look awesome.

When those 60 lbs. are gone, people are gonna be fainting from your hawtness. Hee!

(of course, my opinion is that people should be totally thinking you're the bomb now but that's just me. *I* think you're the bomb!!!)
