In a comment to somebody who wrote about the tremendous amount of support she gets from her friends here on LJ, I told her how wonderful it was that we can find friends who think like us to gain emotional support without all the social "dancing" and energy of building a friendship just to get to the deep thoughts of a person in real (physical) life. This poll seemed like a good idea! You can check as many boxes as you want for every question.

It's a bit long... )

Your Birthdate: June 26

Your birth on the 26th day of the month (8 energy) modifies your life by increasing your capability to function and succeed in the business world.
In this environment you have the skills to work very well with others thanks to the 2 and 6 energies combining in this date.
There is a marked increase in organizational, managerial, and administrative abilities.

You are efficient and handle money very well.
You're ambitious and energetic, while generally remaining cooperative and adaptable.
You are conscientious and not afraid of responsibility.

Generally sociable and diplomatic, you tend to use persuasion rather than force.
You have a wonderful combination of being good at both the broad strokes and the fine detail; good at starting and continuing. This birthday is practical and realistic, often seeking material satisfaction.
Lee-Roy's x-ray looks exactly like the one he had in March. Excellent! I think we gave the vet the wrong impression when we were telling her how well he was doing. His normal behavior sounds hyper to her and we thought he was gaining weight but he has actually lost some since March, so she added an extra test to his senior blood panel to check for hyperthyroidism. I guess we thought he was gaining weight because his back doesn't feel like a washboard anymore. His muscle tone is improved, so maybe that's it. He's eating like a horse and even demanded an extra feeding a few days ago. We gave it to him.

We made an appointment to have his and Cactus's teeth cleaned on Wednesday and then got a quote. It's over $400 per cat??? YIKES! It turns out about $100 of that is for stuff we probably won't need and for optional stuff we find ridiculous, like a tooth care kit for brushing their teeth at home. Riiiight. We are not likely to try to brush the teeth of a cat with scalpel claws or of a cat who is barely tame. Maybe we'll do Cacti now and Lee-Roy later.

Joyce joined Karen and me to travel the 40 miles to the party. We didn't plan this, but we all wore our Boomer Babes t-shirts! I also dressed mine up with the chain Sue gave me. I was going to make artichoke dip but the can I had in the cupboard had a swollen look to it. Since I don't want to poison an entire party with botulism, it went into the trash. I picked up two flavors of hummus and some chips on the way to Karen's house. We had a lovely visit on the way there and on the way back. At the party, only one other person from the Disneyland trip showed up. Gina, the one who drove me totally nuts was there with her husband. I wondered if she was so hesitant and hyper because he was an asshole, and toward the end of the party the following conversation happened with the last eight people still there.

I was talking about how cool it was to work at NASA as an intern and mentioned that Hangar 1 has to come down.

The rest of the party was lots of fun. Nice people. Our t-shirts got lots of attention. :)
