The best laid plans...
Sep. 17th, 2005 10:00 amI'm going to work on Monday, all day. Darn. I was looking forward to a three day weekend before school starts, but this next week is Safety Week and Mike is dismayed that our hours were cut a week early. He needed us there to help keep the computerized presentations going in the two conference rooms. Heh, I'll take next Friday instead.
I had already committed to an end of summer intern pizza party at 11:30am that day. Well, I do get lunch.
When Eric got home from work he told me he needed me to transport him to and from a colonoscopy on Monday. This is the first I heard about that. He said he needed to be there by 12:30. ACK! Then he remembered he was supposed to pick up the prep two weeks before and he hadn't done that. He can't use the over-the-counter prep because he gets kidney stones and that's too rough on kidneys. This morning he found out he can't get the prep he needs until Monday. Well, I guess that conflict isn't a conflict anymore.
I could use Friday off anyway. Our Smith family reunion happens next Saturday. If I end up in the Saturday class, I might have to show up late. The least I can do is to help get my aunt's backyard ready for the event. After all, I am the president of the family association. I'm slated to lead off karaoke with Blue Bayou after the meeting. Oh, guess I'd better repair the latch on the karaoke machine. I have the replacement. I just haven't installed it.
Today we take Lee-Roy in for his six month post-surgery followup at 2pm. Then after that I need to put together some kind of yummy snack to take to a party one of the Boomer Babes is throwing. Karen and I are going without husbands. Maybe Joyce will come. I hope so.
Tired. I just want to go back to bed. Because I thought Eric would be on clear fluids tomorrow, I got up early to go get bagels for breakfast. That's usually our Sunday thing. We didn't do it when he found out he can't get his prep. We'll go tomorrow as usual. Guess I'd better shower and fix the karaoke machine instead. I'm sure I'm anemic again from my female problems. Maybe some extra iron will help the tiredness. Oh yeah, iron and a lowfat soy mocha... mmmm...
*stumbles toward the kitchen*
