The empty house next door is empty no more! Well, at least it won't be once they're moved in.

As I was leaving to inspect local parks for next year's possible family reunion site, I saw a new SUV in the driveway next door and the blinds were down in the windows for the first time in months. Someone opened the front door and was doing something with the door jam, so I walked up the walkway to meet and greet them.

A young man introduced himself as Sergei, then the rest of the family came out to meet me too. I met Sergei, Sr., a mom with a name I think might be Esmerelda but she said it with a very thick Mexican accent so I'm really not sure, and with delight, a little girl I'll call "IG". Loki will be thrilled to have a little girl next door. Apparently there's another son who wasn't with them. They seemed really nice and were happy to be welcomed to the neighborhood. "IG" is thrilled to know there's a kitty next door who likes little girls. She wanted me to go get him. I told her he'd be over to meet her after his nap. I guess they had to get rid of their dog when they moved. :(

I hope two teenage boys next door aren't going to create a lot of noise. Sergei, Jr. asked if the neighborhood was always this quiet and I told him it was. I'm not sure if he likes that or not. Oh well, I have earplugs and white noise for study times.

While I was talking to them our mailman came up and also greeted them warmly. :)

Coool! I hope they like it there. I hope the kids like it too.

I remember when we moved over here, about 1-2 years later there was my family and our neighbor who had children and that's it. Then my neighbors moved, and up until this year it was mostly elderly or childless homes. It was kind of a drag.. but I guess now having a park across the street drew in the families... and now I'm not a kid.

That's pretty much our neighborhood, elderly and childless people. We like the quiet. lol

Us too. Though our one neighbor.. they don't need a house.. they're never there and they don't take care of it and in the summer you can smell the baking dog waste (which they never clean up). I actually saw the lady mow the yard a few weeks ago and she was horribly mad at having to do so. We've dubbed it "the natural yard". There is another guy on the street behind us that is a sound engineer (he sucks, i've experienced his skills), and has a garage band (they suck too) that cranks up some weekends.. but I think everyone complained about how bad they sound so I think he stopped doing that.

lol, I'm afraid we're the unkept yard of the street. no dogs, just cats. Mostly they use the litter boxes... I hope!

Lolol yeah but.. trust me.. you're not like our neighbors.

One day I'm going to take their trash cans and put them in the middle of their driveway all lined up so maybe she won't leave them in the street for months at a time. (Or maybe just put a sign telling the trashmen to just take her cans.. not that she uses them.. but that would be too mean I think)

lol, you're right that we're not that bad. We're vigilant about our cans although Eric leaves them in plain sight. I wish they'd be behind the gate but...

Hahah, but really .. I know it sounds dumb to complain about trash cans but I've seen her get out of the car, move the cans out of her way.. get back into the car.. and drive into the drive way.. and then go in the house, thus leaving the cans there until her daughter got fed up with them being there. How lazy is that?

Oh Oh.. there is a truck there now that says "R Eyes Inspection Service".. I hope she's getting it inspected for pre-listing.

Maybe Jr. was hoping for some friends?

probably. He's close to 20 so he'll probably be gone a lot anyway.

IG sounds like a catloving person. That's good for Loki. He will love that.

And i'm sure jr is looking for friends to play with. If the neigborhood is quiet though, i'm afraid he won't find any.

He's pretty much grown up, so I'm wondering if he wants to play his BOOM BOOM music in his car.

The more I think about the age of the parents and the age of IG, the more I think she might be Sergio, Jr.'s daughter.
