Maybe.. They have a very strict set of rules and protocols. They will deliver the cat to your home to check things out. That may be our downfall. We're going to start frantically cleaning up tomorrow.

We went to visit a pair of black kitten brothers and ended up falling in love with Bob. He's definitely not Lee-Roy come back to us because he was born last fall when Lee-Roy was still here, but his personality is sure a good one. The lady said he didn't show well and growled a lot plus he's an older "kitten" who looks more like a small cat. Once they get past the fuzzy adorable age it's harder to place them. His sister Betty was there, too. His current foster mom has been saying it's time to separate them because they fight all night and keep her awake. lol, that sounds like Lee-Roy rumbling in the hall with any cat who'd play with him.

They didn't want to get Bob out of his cage so we could meet him at first. They said he was upset. But he finally did come out and they led him to us with a feather wand. He doesn't like to be picked up. That's when he growls. Once he got near Eric he was Mr. Snuggles. He grabbed at Eric's hand when it didn't pet him fast enough - that's a Lee-Roy trick. He snorted when Eric petted his face from the nose up over the forehead a few times and that's another Lee-Roy characteristic. His energy level was like Lee-Roy's, too. Eric was hooked, all right. Now if only we can get our house clean enough to please them. *sigh*

We love Bob. He loves us. Cats don't care about clutter. It gives them more places to hide and stuff to play with.

So, if we pass muster, we won't be getting two kittens after all. We'll be getting one cat: Bob.

Scampi isn't feeling well. We may be able to put them off for a week while we take her to the vet and get her feeling better. We don't want to bring a new kitty into the house if we have a sick girl, for either of their sakes.

We now are keeping our girls in full-time as of tonight. That's one of their requirements and it's better to start now than to wait and chance them driving by to see our screen door propped open. I think I'll screen in the patio cover so they can go outside.

Awww, Bob looks like my sister's old cat, Oliver, who was the son of my fave ever baby, DJ. He's lovely! I hope you get him!

carpet scraps to redo parts of our cat tree is about the only thing. We've got lots of toys and stuff already.

Sounds like he knew who to suck up to! You were thinking of getting two, why did you decide not to get his sister?

Because they don't do well confined together and we only have one room to use for isolation for the first week or so to let them adjust plus our own girls took years to get to like each other. They'd really resent another female. The rescue people are considering separating them anyway.

Bob looks wonderful!! And it sounds as if he's perfect for Eric.
Now, you wanted to clean the house anyway, so there you have a good reason to start with it a bit early.

Maybe just put a lot of stuff in a BIGGGGGGGGGG basket and shuffle it upstairs in a place they won't go looking. :o)

Yeah, Eric says we should just tell them when they call that we suffer from A.D.D. and this is just how we live. I'll print out the news article about how dirty is healthier than clean and how healthy our kitties are.

Then we'll go to the animal shelter where the unadopted are killed and rescue one of those.

you could ask the vet to write a little note where he states how good your cats are taken care for.
That MUST make their heart melt.

Then we'll go to the animal shelter where the unadopted are killed and rescue one of those.
that's so sweet of you. Our 3 cats were also all rescues cats. It makes you feel so good inside to know you saved a cat's life.

Good luck with Bob! He looks like a real sweetie in the pictures. I hope Scampi feels better. I know I always go nuts worrying about my babies whenever they don't feel well.

Sounds like a Johnny Cash song... A cat named Bob; dunchica dunchica dunchica dunchica Well I had a fine cat and his name was Bob, he was partial to potatoes and some corn on the cob, he couldn't watch when Frodo fought the spider Shelob, he seems to think that scratching chairs is his only job, that's Bob.

We don't think we'll get Bob. There's no way we can make our house presentable in time.

Oh sure you can.. just take everything that is laying around and throw in garbage bags and throw out in the garage in a corner. You can do it.. I know you can.

Nope, we were so sure we'd never pass their inspection that went to the shelter and found Jeffrey! I'll be posting about him in a little while.
