Rainbows on Eric's face

This morning I was feeling better and as I made my double shot soy mocha, he came into the kitchen for something or other and gave me a big old bear hug. We've both been itchy with this darned virus and I had a really itchy spot on my back. He scratched my back for me... aaaaah. As I waited for the dripping of the espresso to stop, we talked about how we've been feeling so rotten that we haven't had many good hugs lately. So I hugged him again and got a wonderful kiss in return followed by a declaration of love, reciprocated by me, of course. I noticed as we gazed lovingly at each other that he had a couple of rainbows on his cheek and beard and told him so. I used to have crystals hanging in the kitchen window but over time the suction cups have aged and they slid down to the windowsill behind a little flowerpot. The rainbows were peeking out from behind that and he was in just the right position to catch them. He moved around and exclaimed it was really cool that depending upon your position, your eye would pick up the individual colors as if colored lasers were shining into your eye. I tried it and it was cool!
I'm going to get some new suction cups for the crystals. I like a kitchen full of rainbows.
