I got the exact same email from two sources today, both wanting to design a logo for my business. HAHAHA!

Truly, I was tempted to click on the link to tell them I create logos for other people and to stop sending me email, but I stopped myself to look at the link itself and to do a whois on it. Good thing! It's a site in the Netherlands, I think. urchoise.com is registered to mintelnetwerkbeheer@mail15.com.

I'll bet his site has a built-in virus. So many of the offshore ones do. Part of me wants to spam him. If I did, he'd probably find a way to destroy my website.

ooh, I wish I knew how to shutdown attackers. I can't even do it legally because he's not in the US. Grrr.

I have been getting a lot of emails for the past couple of days 'pretending' to be from Paypal saying that my account has been subject to 'unauthorized access' or that another email address has been added to my account and tellng me to 'click on their link' and give out all my personal info. How stupid do they think people are? I usually just erase these without opening but as I got at least 4 from the same source yesterday and now have gotten 3 new ones from another source I may forward them to paypal (hence tattle).

I also forward the ones from Africa who promise big money in exchange for using your bank account to launder money to the US Treasury.

Some people are pretty stupid or naive. There are just enough who fall for it to keep them going.

I have answered some of these back "Why don't you just get a REAL JOB and stop trying to rip people off!" This is probably a mistake as I prolly got worms and viruses just by opening them but they make me SO mad! Trying to rip people off. Crappy.

Is it Thursday or Friday there? Its Thursday night here. I don't know why I am so interested in this. It just FASCINATES me that you and ebony are on the entire other side of the planet yet we yak and yak. Amazing. (I am showing my naievetee again). I mean, don't get me wrong -- I have worked now for 20 years and in some big damn offices too (the one firm where I worked was the third largest law firm in the WORLD) but the internet has taken off so fast that it boggles my mind.

It really IS odd. Plus both of you are posting about how cold it is there and its SO HORRIBLY HOT AND HUMID here right now. Its kind of neat. Makes me think back to last winter when I was having a beer at the computer, or watching an episode of 'Night Gallery' and hoping to GOD my furnace didn't blow up.
