Interesting! This is my home town. I still live here. San Jose, CA.

I had no idea there was so much crime here. I guess living in the least-crime pocket of the city has its advantages. Hmmm... the toxic waste near my home isn't reassuring.

Heh! The first hospital they list was a psychiatric institution that has mostly been closed down. It still houses severely impaired individuals whose families don't have other options. Sure would be odd to see someone show up there wanting medical care!

Isn't that a neat website that I found (when I should have been working)? I had a lot of fun on that. Wiggy (husband) grew up in Marquette, Michigan. Beautiful place! Though a larger place than where I grew up it is very pretty and has Lake Superior (and a bit more crime) but the snow (vast amounts as almost into Canada) would freak me out). I need a happy medium. I need spring and/or fall all the time, zero murders, I don't care about cultural diversity. I just want to be safe and be within a weekend drive of a major city. That seems too much to ask. Perhaps somewhere on Venus I can find such a place? Oh -- and no hunting. I remember this as one of the really rotten parts of growing up where I did (in the country waaay back in the woods. The raccoon season was the worst. Barking dogs and gunshots at night. I would lay in bed cringing wondering what was going on -- we had a pet raccoon and they need not be shot for a stupid hide or trophy -- they are very smart critters). Probably smarter than the people shooting them!

No diversity means no good Chinese, Thai and Mexican restaurants. My hubby's home town is low in crime but it's also low on diversity. It always feels so weird when we visit, as if we're in another country or something. They do have hunting though. One of the three pictures they have on the screen is of a dog holding a dead mallard.
