An conversation in my voice-over class last Saturday bothered me enough to want to post this poll. I'll explain what happened after the results are in.

I did the poll though I did it wrong here and there, checking none for none rather than "no hair". But I can sum the poll this way. Anyone who thinks there is any correlation between appearance and intelligence, exempting obvious genetic retardation, is a fool. If someone you had to listen to was debating it, they are likely of the majority, but they need help with reality.

You know, people tell me I ought to wear contacts or get LASIK, because my glasses "hide my pretty eyes". But wearing glasses is a sign that says "smart" that counteracts the big breasts message of "idiot bimbo". And being a law librarian is a profession where I need, above all else, to not be viewd as an idiot bimbo. I'll get LASIK when I can afford a breast reduction.

It really is a shame that we have to resort to costuming tactics like this. I mean, what a completely irrelevant characteristic upon which to base a judgement about a person's intelligence!
