She died yesterday at 3PM.  I was relieved when I heard.  There was no way she was coming out of the coma and I would have hated for her to live in a vegetative state.  She didn't want that.

*hugs for our boys*
I downloaded the standalone installation last night because in the chat, installing it in Safe Mode was mentioned.  The instructions are supposed to be in my inbox.  There are no instructions in my inbox or my spam folder.

So now I'm downloading the CD image in case I need to boot from the install CD for it to work.  If I don't get instructions, I'll remove all USB dongles and boot from the CD so nothing at all can be in the way.

Last night when we were instructed to removed all the extra USB items, Eric started grumping about it saying he thought the tech was clutching at straws and he didn't know how they could possibly be a problem.  I scolded him and told him to stop it.  He'd done the install against my advice and now I was giving up my entire F***ing evening to try to fix it when I'd much rather be playing one of my games.

Then I told him it was documented in many places online that removing all extra USB devices was part of the install process, so just do it.

The trouble is, one of them is for SoftImage and forgets the date when it's unplugged and then it's a nightmare to get it reset.  Oh well!  That's the price you pay for going against professional tech advice!

He apologized and was meek and cooperative after that.  He knows he dug himself into this hole.  Hopefully, tonight's tasks won't take all night.  My puzzle pirate shop needs tending!

So where's my email with instructions, Microsoft tech in Bangladore, India??
