Finn MacCool

You scored 95 Common Sense, 63 Irish Facts, and 82 Irish Soul!

I am honored to be in your presence. You know your stuff. You are Irish in your heart. You probably talk like an Irish person after a few pints. You sing the rebel songs. You drink, and probably bleed Guinness. You may have even been interned in British Prisions. You impress (or annoy) all your friends with your vast Irish knowledge. If you are a female, I am in love. If you are a male, we are brothers. We should have a pint.

Saturday was Loki's vaccination day. His bald allergic leg is mostly healed with black fur on most of it and white fur coming in on the part that didn't grow fur since last year's breakout. The vet wants us to get him to take 1/2 a prednisone pill every other day until the fur is completely back in. Good luck to me. He's been avoiding me in the house for the last two weeks.

Brandon and I were going through the houses for sale online him printing the ones that were likely candidates and me printing maps to them.

Saturday I was mostly resting to let my lungs recover and to make the medication transition easier. It went very smoothly. The new med is working better than the old in my lungs. Much of the muscle cramping in my upper back and lower legs disappeared. My upper back and shoulders also have the pinched nerves in my neck to blame, so there's still a considerable amount there, but it's better.

Sunday was a slow start to the day then Brandon and I went to tour a new condo complex. It was in a really nice area and had much bigger rooms than the one nearer our house. The condos were apartments not so long ago but were built in a time of larger rooms. They stripped out the interior walls and put in one hour firewalls plus insulation and new sheet rock on top so unlike the apartments of old, there's a sound barrier between them. He could make this work. The realtor giving the tours recognized Brandon's wrestler build and seemed genuinely interested in him, having sons who were wrestlers. He seemed honest. We asked him some questions about closing costs. They'll cover them. They're looking to add a two year gym membership to the pot to sweeten it plus pay the first two years of home owner association fees. On top of that, they've lowered the price twice in the last week. Sweeter still!

Then we drove around neighborhoods with three townhouses/condos for sale but didn't list exact addresses. Two of them are in the same complex, I think. The other is closer to us but very near a casino.

Brandon says he wants to look at other places before making a decision. I agree. This was only the second place he's looked at. If it's meant to be, it will still be available when he's ready.

My sister has a friend whose daughter is a realtor and our neighbor was a realtor and has a reference for Brandon to someone she mentored. We'll get someone on his side to take him on tours of properties and to figure out the bottom line so he'll know just how much he has to spend on a place.

He thanked me yesterday for helping him get started and for letting him sleep on our couch. He said he knew he should have moved sooner but didn't know where to start. I repeated what I've told him numerous times, that in my heart he's my boy and I try to do everything I can to fill that role for him. It makes me sad that he's felt so alone in life. Now that he'll be closer, we can change that more easily.
