Cool site!
May. 24th, 2008 09:27 amSomeone from the UK in
cat_lovers posted about their cat, Oscar Wilde Mogg-Monster, and that led to comments about moggies.
I didn't know what moggies meant, so I googled it. I found this very cool site that gave the origin of world-wide terms and phrases. Ah yes, now I remember. Moggie is a UK term for alley cat or stray. Our cats are all moggies. I love my moggies! They're the BEST!
The term "wiseacre" caught my eye. Now in our culture this has now evolved into "wise ass" for the most part, but I remember it from my childhood. My link goes to wiseacre.
Hey Bie! This term comes from Dutch! Isn't that cool?
Now to get dressed and drag Loki to the vet for his Rabies and other vaccinations. Where's my particle mask for the smoke?
