Sleepy hubbies are funny. teehee! I was sitting in my recliner next to the open front door reading my FL when he came out. Scampi had finished her morning grass and hauled herself up to her pillow perch on the back of the couch. It's a bit chilly this morning. I told him he was welcome to close the door if he wanted. As he closed the door it got dark. I reached up and hit the switch on my lamp. We use compact fluorescent bulbs in our lamps so there's a bit of a delay before they come on. He didn't see me reach for the switch as I said, "Ooh, it's dark!" He turned around and the light came on. Both of my hands were already back on the keyboard.

"How'd you do that?!?" he exclaimed.

I never knew saving energy could be so fun!
When I got home from work yesterday, the neighbor child greeted me with her usual enthusiasm. I love her so much! She was excited because she's going to be in a talent show. I asked what she was going to do. She was going to sing she said, acapella. (no accompanying music) I asked for a sample. She started singing "On the Good Ship Lollipop" only she was changing keys about every half line. Hmm.. She needs music to keep her on track. I told her I needed to put some groceries into the refrigerator and then I'd look at my karaoke CD's to see if I had her song. I have collection of six children's song CD's but her song wasn't on them. Her other choice is "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid. I don't have that one either.

We sat on my front porch step and went through my CD's looking for an alternate. She asked me to sing snippets from the ones she didn't know. I was singing "Michael, Row Your Boat Ashore" when two elderly ladies walked by, looking at me and smiling big smiles. I got bashful and lost volume, lol. Gosh I felt silly, singing on my porch!

A took the six CD's home after we'd gone through them to play them and see if she thought any of the songs would work for her. In the meantime, I searched online for "Good Ship Lollipop" and found a CD+G with that AND "Under the Sea"! Yay! I ordered it from the cheapest well-rated source and expedited it so A will have a chance to practice with it.

The songs in my collection are very old songs, some of them not exactly appropriate in today's world. I had no idea what I was getting when I bought the boxed set. The new CD I ordered has a lot of contemporary songs. It's going to be a very nice addition to my selections.
