Great. I went to bed the night before last and started to drift off when the sound of angry cats woke me. Baby sometimes bugs the big kitties enough to make them grouse at her so I listened. Nope! This was cat cussing at a higher level. I got up to break it up. Without my glasses I'm pretty blind but I still could tell Squeakers looked bigger than usual on her favorite cardboard scratchy. Loki and Scampi were standing up to "her" but it wasn't Squeakers at all. It was Dempsey. He was quite proud of himself that he'd figured out the new pet door. I liked the fact that two kitties were protecting Baby, wherever she was hiding. Dempsey attacked her the one other time he saw her.

He wanted love. I gave him some, reminded him he needed to be a nice kitty with the other kitties and he curled up on his cat bed. It was cold outside. This is his tradition.

In the morning, I left for work without my textbook so I ran home at lunch time to retrieve it for class last night. Baby seemed spooked and hung out on or around my chair the entire time I was home. That's different. As I drove away, I saw Dempsey walking through our neighbor's yard toward our house.

When Eric got home, he found Dempsey inside our house.

Squeakers doesn't have any of the characteristics of a cat in heat but with Dempsey's sudden interest and determination to get inside, I wonder if she's on the cusp? We may have to lock that outer door for her protection. That's going to be a pain. We'll be doormen to the cats for the next several weeks. Loki is going to howl at us. YOOOOWWW! :(
