All four wisdom teeth are impacted. All four are coming out today. Wish him the best of luck! My experience with this was a nightmare. I'm praying his won't be.
When he'd forgotten he was having his surgery today, he had asked if he could spend the week with us. Eric had arranged for the week off because we didn't know if I'd be working or not. Yesterday after I took J home, Eric admitted he was very disappointed that the week with J had been canceled because as odd as it seems (to him) he really has become attached to J and was looking forward to spending the whole week with him. For an avowed child-disliker, that's really something! He went to work today.
We had a major breakthrough with one of the girl cats and J this week. Scampi has decided he's a good guy and actively seeks attention from him. He had a squishy Earth ball I'd given him sitting on the floor. She limped up to it and patted it with her paw then looked up at him. She repeated that a couple of times as he crooned to her about how pretty she is. He sat on the floor a couple of feet from her and rolled it to her. She flopped over and rolled it back. That's a game she likes to play. :)
When she tired of that I suggested he drag the rawhide bootlace toy back and forth in front of her. She really got into that for a few minutes. Then she was tired. At 16, she's entitled!
J was thrilled. He got to pet her a lot and was even allowed to kiss her on top of her head. That's two of our kitties who love him now. :)
It's amazing what growing up a bit can do with shy kitties. Now he just needs to make friends with Miss Cactus. She was less frightened this time. This may happen in the near future.
