Checking out kittens
Jun. 12th, 2006 12:02 amEric willingly goes to the adoption fairs now. He's ready to have the wound in his heart heal up and surprisingly to me, he has joined me in my belief that kitties who have a special bond with us come back in a new kitty body. Lee-Roy has had time to be born and grow into a kitten, so we're on the look-out for him.
I thought we might have found him when I read about this kitten but someone else beat us to the punch so I guess it's not our boy. When we do find him, we're planning to take another kitten at the same time so they'll have each other to terrorize and won't drive our girls nuts.
The shelter lady says she has another group of hand-raised kittens nearly ready to be adopted and she thinks we might find the boy we're looking for with them. The only condition is that we finish conditioning our girls to stay indoors all the time because she won't approve them to be indoor/outdoor cats.
With the bird flu due to hit here in 2 to 3 months, I'm working toward that. I may need to build a screened sunroom for them or something. They'd like that. I'm determined to get to that point by the first weekend in July when the kittens she has will be able to be adopted. In the meantime, we'll check out the babies at the adoption fairs in case he's somewhere else.
