Naturally people are wanting more of my time than usual. Work is usually laid-back and I can do homework if I need to. Lately that hasn't been the case plus my assessments of my four main goals for the quarter is due tomorrow. One of them was to organize the server room and I'd done nothing because I wasn't even sure where to start. So I scrounged the house and took all my small boxes in and used them to sort and organize the cabinet shelves that were piled with ethernet cables and power cables. Now there are three boxes and a small pile of ethernet cables sorted by length, and three boxes of power cables sorted by type and length inside those cabinets. Plenty more needs to be sorted into small boxes, but I'm out of them and haven't found more yet. Just as I thought I could get to my homework there have been a couple of important tasks assigned to me to be done by the end of the day.

Hopefully I can get to my case study at work today. I need to do the Excel part of it at work because foolishly, I started to update my Excel program here at home and it asked for the CD. I have no idea where it is. I've searched with no success. :( I wonder if I can uninstall the upgrade to get my Excel functioning again?

I've got to get it all done because my lab partner and I are going to try to get it all going this Saturday morning and we're supposed to do a presentation of it next week in class. If I'm going to try to put a power point together, that will be at work, too. Office 2000 Small Business that I bought way back when didn't come with Power Point. How stupid is that?

Oh, and this Friday we're surprising my uncle Jim - my favorite uncle I stay with in San Francisco - because his 80th birthday is on the 21st. His sons and wives are all coming for the weekend but he doesn't know we're all going to be hiding in the back room of his favorite cafe with a party. His son Barry asked my sister and me to write a song. I'm not good at writing songs. Poetry, yes; songs, no. But I had a good excuse and gave it to him. When I told him Sherrie's voice is mostly gone from teaching through laryngitis too many times, he asked if we could recite something. Sherrie thought she might be able to sing and then wouldn't you know, she caught a cold. She was thinking about writing new words for "If I only had a brain" from the Wizard of Oz up until then. I have been completely blank. Instead, since the party is going to be on St. Patrick's Day, she wrote a bunch of limericks and sent them to me with the suggestion that I try to write ones to put in between hers as sort of a competition. She admits her rhythms weren't good. They were quickly written so she'll probably refine them by tomorrow night. Hers inspired me and I was able to come up with my share. I give partial credit to thesaurus.com for the rhymes.

I need to find a really good puzzle to give him after one of them. I was going to scan a picture I wrote one about but it's missing from the photo album I borrowed. I'm in big trouble if it doesn't show up. It wasn't for me to begin with. eep!

Anyway, for your amusement, here are the limericks we came up with. Hers begin and end the group. Mine are in between.

Oh, and wouldn't you know, the secretary of my department decided we're having a pot-luck on Friday and wants us all to bring our favorite green food. Riiight. Like I have time to prepare anything. I think I'll hand her $5 for my share. Money is green, right?
