Rough midterms
Feb. 21st, 2006 10:31 amI've now taken five take-home tests in the last week. UGH. The challenge course I'm in had three, 2 midterms and the final, all due the last week of school, and because I know darned well the last half of the quarter is going to be full, I took them as best I could without the book he said he'd loan me. Someone else borrowed it and hasn't returned it. Wouldn't you know they had things in the intro course that are taught differently in all the courses after them? This will make no sense to non-techies, but I've learned about the 7-layer OSI networking model and the 4-layer something or other model. The test for the intro course refer to the 5-layer internet model. Oh come on! Having two networking/internet models was confusing enough. Why start by introducing a model they're not going to see again? <*end tech stuff*>
Both of the midterms for the classes I'm attending were extremely difficult. We'll see how I did on the one I turned in last Thursday. The one I turn in tonight frightens me. There were all sorts of scenarios I couldn't find in the book. I guess this means learning superficially isn't going to work anymore. With the credit load I'm carrying, I'm not sure I can completely absorb all the information I'm expected to.
