If there is at least one person in your life whom you consider a close friend,
and whom you would not have met without the internet, post this sentence in your
journal.

I'm so blessed to have so many!
After the angry email I sent (as described in this post) and the following promise in a return email from the person at the Registrar of voters who told me she had marked both Eric's and my preference for English only, we certainly weren't expecting to receive TWO sample ballots for this stupid special election the Gropenator insists on having. We each got one in English and one in Spanish - well, sort of. Each measure has English on the top part and the Spanish equivalent beneath it exactly the same in both packets. The only difference in the sample ballots is the language on the front and on the information pages.

I had sarcastically suggested they send random language ballots to English speakers just to be fair. She must have been angered by my anger and marked us as preferring Spanish out of spite. The rage didn't well up this time, thank you progesterone! Eric's anger when he first saw it faded pretty quickly, too. He joked that he wanted his random language to be...um.. I forget what he said but it was the language of some country in Asia.

EDIT: Nepalese. I asked him this morning. He wanted his ballot in Nepalese! teehee!

I'll give them a call tomorrow to ask them not to waste paper by sending us the Spanish ones.

Guess I'd better go to bed now.
You're feeling better than you have in a long time, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. Don't question it and don't overanalyze what's behind that grin. Just keep grinning.

I have been feeling better this week than I have for a very long time! Woo hoo!

1. When you sneeze, do you hold it in or let loose?
I let it fly. Holding it in can damage your eardrums. Since I don't have perfect pitch, I have to hear myself sing to stay on key. I can't afford damage to my eardrums!

2. If I hand you $1,000. this morning and tell you that it must be spent this weekend, what will you spend it on? New bifocals, Scampi's teeth cleaning and some new clothes. The rest pays off bills.

3. Which holiday is your favourite? least favourite? Why? Favorite is Thanksgiving because I love turkey and that's the only holiday we have it, plus that's the only holiday my Jehovah's Witness cousin and his wife join us. Least favorite is probably Easter because there's always pressure for me to have it at my house and I have stacks of clutter everywhere.

4. Do you keep old yearbooks from your high school years? Where are they in your home? I have them. My senior yearbook is here in the computer room somewhere. The others are in the bookshelf in the back bedroom.

5. After you pay a bill, how long do you keep it for? At least three years. Probably longer if the box it's in gets buried.
I went to my second seminar for the quarter on Wednesday night. It was about Jupiter's moon Europa. It's the one other body in our solar system thought to have a salty liquid ocean under the ice shell covering it. It also apparently has active volcanoes under the water so it has carbon and salty water, two essential elements for life. The lecture went into a lot of detail I won't go into here, but it was COOL!

Pictures of Europa and information about it are here

Here's one used in the lecture. See the chunks of broken ice that have separated and are tilting in the ice crust? That's the indication that there's liquid water underneath it. Cool, huh?
