Who can name the raptor?

My old roommates, the birder brothers, taught me to call birds of prey "raptors." This one was sitting at the top of our neighbor's dead tree twice in one week. We both snapped pictures of it the first day. The second time there were two. They both flew off before we were able to get our cameras.
