Dempsey dropped by early this morning.

sugarplumkittyI was playing my Sims 2 in yet another breeding experiment community and got caught up watching a PBS show on Mae West. As a result, it was 3AM when I finally started my nightly rituals of kitty care and sinus clearing regime. Baby had been with me in the bathroom and suddenly heard something and left for the front of the house.
I needed to get a new ziploc gallon bag for scooping the litter boxes and noticed her drinking from the water bowl that was fouled with catfood. I picked it up to clean it and she flinched and ran halfway across the kitchen. I spoke softly to her and that's when I noticed the deformed ear. That wasn't Squeakers, that was Dempsey! It's the end of mating season and he's so emaciated he looks small like her. I put the fresh water down and refilled the crunchies bowl. As I filled the bowl, Squeakers came in and stretched her face toward him very cautiously. He was half sitting, ready to run and looked like he wasn't sure how to react. I told him to be nice to our Baby. That was too much for him. He walked to the kitty door. I was sad and called after him, moving the food closer to him. He left. Darn. He really needs to eat right now to bulk back up.
I'd be more worried but he does this every year. He'll be all buffed out again in a couple of months.
Yeah, I really need to get a picture of him with his deformed ear. The only icon I have of him is before the wound that deformed it.
Eric says we really need to get him fixed so he doesn't go through this every year.
