Nobody from the company returned my calls yesterday. When I got to school last night my instructor said a little bird told him I had a job and then called back to tell him I didn't have a job.

I explained to him about all the driving and the 24x7 on-call thing and told him my bad discs don't allow me to drive much without giving me blinding headaches. The on-call thing was also a problem because I have to take muscle relaxants when I have a headache and I can't function very well while they're in effect. They need a spring chicken. I'm no spring chicken.

He said I like them so much and they want to kill me. Yikes! Man, I'm glad I didn't take that job if that's how they are.

I'll write the company a letter with my reasons as soon as I get the dollar amount of the tickets to Las Vegas to reimburse them. I sent an email to my primary contact saying that. I did give hint by saying something about liking them so much that I ignored things that would be a problem for me physically and "The last thing I want to do is to take a job I really want then cause problems for the company."

I'm clear now that when I do find a job, I want one in a larger company where I can be an in-house I.T. person. I also want one who knows the difference between Level 1 Help Desk and Level 2 or 3 Help Desk. My abilities have me somewhere between Level 2 and 3. I'm definitely NOT Level 1 at this point.

Level 1 sits on the phone and reads from a script. Level 1 doesn't know anything about anything.

Anyway, this was a good experience for learning more about myself.

Off to my intership job! YAY! I love my internship job.
