Squeakers wants to play so badly that she was slapping at Scampi in her hidey hole to rile her up.  When I scolded her for bothering Scampi, she dashed up the cat tree and started chasing her tail.  She hasn't chased her tail in at least six months, so that was a surprise that pulled a chuckle out of me.  She stopped immediately and stared at me.  Uh oh, I'd insulted her!  I quickly told her she was a cute kitty so she resumed her game, nearly falling off the cat tree at one point as she tried to chase it through and around the access hole in the top platform.  teehee!

Scampi came out of her hidey hole to wander through the house.  I think she's willing to play a little, if Squeakers would play on the floor.  But Squeakers doesn't seem to understand Scampi can't climb the cat tree anymore.

Remember the container of old catnip I found last month?  It's been sitting on the floor of the kitchen ever since.  The cats have seemed quite happy to push their faces into it and nibble from the container.  Sometimes some stems would be pulled out.  I'd take the stems away and put the bits of leaves that came out with them. back into the container.  Two days ago I got up to find the majority of the catnip spread over the kitchen floor.  The stems were around the edges of the mess.  Fine, I picked the stems up and put the catnip leaves back into the container.  Yesterday morning it was the same thing, with smaller stems around the edges.  This time, I went through the container to pull out all the stems I could find and put the soft catnip back inside.  Loki was watching me with great interest as I cleaned up the floor.  As I went to the trash with the stems, he walked up to the container and took a long sniff and nibble, then put both front feet into it and started digging it out onto the floor.  Once most of it was on the floor, he proceeded to roll in it., spreading it all over again.  I was tired, so I left it.  Eric laughed when I told him what happened.  Now we know who is making that mess!  It's not where we walk in it, thankfully.  I guess I need to take that pleasure away from our junkie cat. lol
