The family Secretary suggested we check out parks this weekend since it's as close to the date of next year's reunion as we're going to get. We could see how busy the park was and what the conditions were.
I went to Google Maps to find parks nearby since San Jose's website doesn't show park locations on a map, they just list them in alphabetical order with street name locations. Since most parks are tucked into the middle of residential areas away from busy streets, I had no idea where they were from that.
Nearby cities of Santa Clara and Campbell were kinder, having maps showing the locations of the parks. You could click on a little marker to get the details. I came up with a list of 12 parks to check out. Granted, I only made it to six of them because I was getting very tired and after the first two small parks, crossed the small ones off my list. They simply weren't big enough to have good picnic facilities.
Ed and I both emailed our results to the rest of the board. We noticed it was windy and that the parks that were possibilities with handy restrooms and large enough groupings of picnic tables to handle 12 or so people were crowded with birthday parties and lots of screaming kids. That wouldn't work too well for a business meeting. We're both thinking a restaurant would be a better choice, so now we need to check out local restaurants with back rooms we might be able to commandeer.
I finished off my journey by going to the pet food supply store to restock on food and kitty litter. All our catnip mice are dead so I picked up five more. These are premium catnip mice made by a local person and they smell heavenly! She uses various kitty fabric for the bodies and leather for the ears and tails. Dempsey was so pleased to get one of his own! :)
