Eric forgot my birthday
Jun. 27th, 2008 07:49 amHe thought it was today. He has a lot of hot projects going at work and called at 8PM saying he was just leaving work. I wondered if there was a surprise in the offing but no, he simply worked late. When he finally got home and mentioned figuring out dinner, I said it was my choice because it was my birthday.
"No, it's not." He declared in a grumpy voice.
"Yes it is," I said, wondering why he was grumping at me and saying it wasn't my choice of meals when that is our tradition.
"It's not your birthday," he clarified.
"Yes, it is my birthday" I insisted.
"Oh S--t." he said, "It finally happened. I messed up. I owe you a big apology."
Then it came out that he thought my birthday was today. He hadn't found my gift yet, I'd asked for a Wii, not expecting he'd find one.
I've switched it now for a small LCD TV for my karaoke setup. I can't lift the small standard TV I've got now and Eric refuses to attend family reunions with me. I hurt myself at the last one carrying it back to my car.
I chose Pizza Guys pizza for dinner because I didn't want to go back out in the smoky air and because we got a "We miss you" postcard with $5 off in yesterday's mail.
Nobody at work remembered my birthday either. I was happy about that!
Heh, I have Eric at my mercy now. BWAHAHAHAHA!
