Loki needed to visit the vet because he has a bald spot on the back of one of his rear legs that has become bumpy and irritated. I thought we could finally get a biopsy to see if he has eosinophilic granuloma but the vet said this wasn't a typical example of it so she did the ringworm check just in case and as she thought, it wasn't ringworm.

Happily, he won't be taking prednisone for it again. She told us to give him chlorpheniramine, something we were used to giving Lee-Roy for his sinuses.

Loki doesn't usually mind going to the vet. He did this time. Eric tricked him by playing with him then grabbed him and shoved him in the carrier. Loki was angry. At the vet he was used to getting out and wandering around but we were told not to in case it was ringworm. He was already hiding under the blanket in his carrier so that wasn't an issue. To add insult to injury, the vet cat, Henry, was actively seeking attention from us. He even followed us into the exam room and stayed until the vet came in. I had to drag Loki out of the carrier.

When we got home I returned a call to my sister that came in when we were getting dinner last night. I didn't notice the message until I was going to bed last night. We were supposed to get together this weekend to celebrate the summer birthdays but that's not working out. Darn. I had so much fun at Long's yesterday digging through their sale items finding silly things to go with the gift cards I'm giving people. When I was looking at cards for Mike and Katie, there was one for a woman that showed two women drinking from tall glasses with umbrellas. It said "As we know, the best things in life are free.. And come with little umbrellas" I hadn't chosen that card for Katie but when I found a straw dispenser filled with straws that had little umbrellas on them, I went back and traded the one I had chosen for that one. I love theme gift/card combos! For Mike I found a pair of guns that shoot foam rings. They just got a new kitten so this is perfect! Kittens love chasing things like little foam discs. Now we're not going to see them. *sigh*

Instead, we've been invited to ride up to Berkeley with them to see Chris's new apartment. We'll need to leave at 3:45PM. I want to go but I'd already planned to get new tires on my car today so we agreed to play it by ear.

So then I took my car to the tire place and found out I'll have it back by around noon. Cool! I can't believe how differently I see distances now that I'm used to walking so much. It used to seem so far to the tire place. It only took me 10 minutes to walk home. Ah, it felt good. :)

I may even have time for a nap before we go to Berkeley!
