May. 11th, 2007

I had so much fun! I was one of the gorier "victims" with facial and scalp wounds from flying glass. They ran out of glass and pre-made wounds before they got to me so I had to make do with derma wax with blood powder and gooey stage blood dabbed onto places on face and front part of my scalp. They took so long with me that I missed the main transport to the building. The lady next to me was getting a huge gash to her carotid artery and missed the transport, too. She drove us to the building, both of us holding the chest part of the seat belts away from our bloody shirts.

She was supposed to be dead on the lawn outside of the building. I had to find an empty cubicle or office with window. On the way to a room with several cubicles a man passed me and asked what happened to me. I told him it hadn't happened yet. We had a few minutes to go before 9AM and the 10.2 "quake." lol

When someone sounded a horn I dropped to the floor of the cubicle screaming, "MY EYES! OH IT HURTS! SOMEONE HELP ME! I CAN'T SEE! PLEASE HELP ME!"

My experience as a victim... )

One "victim" was a man with an amputated leg. They'd gored up his stump. I thought about [livejournal.com profile] falls2climb and her glass eye. She'd be a great victim!

Sadly, one of the other "victims" fell down some stairs and became a real victim. She may have broken her ankle.

By 11AM only 32 of the 50 victims had been found. That's not a very good track record but that's why we had this drill. They need to find the weaknesses in the disaster plan.

Then they fed us shredded chicken sandwiches or veggie burgers with beans and corn on the cob, chips and cookies. Victims were instructed to eat lunch with their makeup on. Some people were grossed out by that.

The head nurse said she got some makeup remover that promised to work miracles. Well, it mostly worked. The derma wax had caked in my hair and the stage blood was drying up. I used about half of one of the bottles. It burned my eyes, too. I used the hand soap in the bathroom to wash the makeup remover off but it still felt greasy. I was still pretty pink when I went home. Showering at home, I used shampoo to get the rest of the makeup off. It took three tries to get it out of my hair and off my skin. My right eye is still burning but maybe it's from having the skin around it scrubbed too much.

We each got a t-shirt that says "I was victimized by THE GREAT WORDEN QUAKE 2007"

Last night I was still trying to figure out which shirt to sacrifice to this event. Suddenly I remembered the white polo shirt with my previous employer's logo embroidered on it they'd made for each of us for user group years ago. White would show the blood really well. I'll never wear that shirt again and somehow dripping blood all over it seemed appropriate. teehee

My raggedy jeans were a harder choice. Sure they're a little big but I like them. Still, they have tiny holes and were already stained. Somehow they only got one little drop of blood on them. They're still good! YAY!

Hopefully, I'll get a few pictures to share next week.
