My mom told my sister SHE was being hyper yesterday morning. My sister has never been hyper a day in her life. It turns out that because Sherrie kept busy organizing things and digging through stacks of ancient catalogs to make room for the new ones Mom had accumulated that Mom thought she was being hyper.

Normally, Mom sits on her butt. All day. Everyday. Ok, not all the time. She gets up to do personal hygiene and fix herself meals. She does her own laundry. She hires her housework and gardening done. She has her groceries delivered. She shops through catalogs and online for everything else. She goes to aqua exercise class twice a week. Now apparently, her interpretation of "hyper" is when people do more than she does.

Honestly, when Mom told me I was being hyper I was so tired I had no idea where I'd have the energy to be hyper. It was when I was packing up her stuff in her hospital room to get her home that she told me that. I barely had time to pack and get her prescription for painkillers before it was time to wheel her out. I understand that sometimes I'm not aware that I'm hyper and that I have a tendency to use my adrenalin surges to keep going past when I should.

But it hurt until my sister confided that she'd been called hyper. Now it's just funny! lol

It was especially funny because I'm at the point of falling apart at the end of a crisis. My cell phone was missing when I went to leave for Mom's yesterday. When I got there, my phone was on a table. I burst into tears because I was desperately in need of sleeping another six hours, still had a final to take, my project to finish and a lab to find a couple of answers for. Mom went easy on me yesterday. She's really doing well, not needing her walker much at all. She did for herself as much as possible because she was feeling guilty for me being in the state I was in. She slept a lot because the pain kept her up most of the night. No criticism at all yesterday. ;)

I got all that work done. Now I can focus on tonight's Linux final, my Cisco lab final and rechecking the answers on my Windows final before I turn it in tomorrow night. I was so groggy that the complex questions might have been beyond my true understanding.

Aunt June and Uncle Jim are with Mom until the new caretaker arrives this afternoon. YAY!
