Busy days since the final. My hand still hurts where the doctor nicked the nerve. It still works, so I'm sure it will heal up eventually.

Jonathan called on Thursday night to invite himself for a visit. When I got home from my final Friday night, he ran out of the house to give me a bear hug. :)

He and Eric spent most of the weekend playing Vice City. Jonathan found a website with servers so they could play different scenarios against each other. Jonathan said he found our wireless network when he turned his computer on. I checked and he was using one named Linksys, but it wasn't ours. There was another called 2Wire and yet another called iloveshoes. 2Wire was secured but Linksys and iloveshoes weren't! At first I thought maybe I'd messed up when I thought I turned the wireless access off on our new router because it would call itself Linksys but I named ours a unique name and turned off the SSID broadcast so nobody will see it. Then I put on the encryption that worked with Eric's old laptop and set Jonathan's laptop up to use it. Linksys was still there so I know it's at a neighbor's house. Later I set Eric's laptop up to use the new SSID I created. Eric is thrilled to have access with his laptop again without switching wires.

Jonathan loved Loki. Loki loved Jonathan. It was fun to watch them interact. On Saturday I took Jonathan to NASA for the shuttle launch. He was engrossed in conversation with a scientist when they announced the delay. A news crew came up and asked me if they could interview Jonathan. I said, "Sure!" then I wondered if I had authority to let them put him on TV. Oh well. He got part of what he said on the news, "It's too bad this had to happen," when they asked if he was disappointed that the launch didn't happen. Five seconds of fame!

We stayed up after Eric went to bed to talk about stuff. I love discussing life, spirituality and anything at all with Jonathan! :)))))

He stayed longer than he intended, through dinner on Sunday when we celebrated my birthday *and his* at my mom's house. We took Loki to meet his grandmother. :) Silly beastie tried to eat all her house plants. He found some cobwebs her housekeepers missed, too. He was sneezing alot all day and we didn't realize until we had him visiting that he has a cold. One eye is a bit goopy. If it isn't better by Wednesday, we'll take him to the vet. Jonathan was handy during the visit because he had enough energy to keep Loki from eating everything. My mom put out some catfood leftover from her late Kit and he wasn't interested. I was glad. Little changes in his diet give him diarrhea.

By the time we finished eating, had cake and pie and dropped Eric and Loki off at home, it was pretty late. Jonathan tried to talk me into driving him all the way to Berkeley. My arm was hurting and I had to be up at 6:30 AM for my first full time day of work for the summer so I refused. We drove to Fremont to drop him at BART. I took the wrong exit and with all the road construction going on there I was unable to get myself back onto the freeway going the right direction to get to the right one. After we'd gotten onto another freeway, turned around and come back only to loop around one big area, I stopped at a gas station and asked the man behind the counter where they'd hidden BART! Then I bought a map. The clerk showed us how to find BART. We were still about 10 minutes from it but everything suddenly looked familiar when I was about two blocks away. We'd been having a deep conversation about relationships. He wished again I'd drive him to Berkeley so we could continue the conversation. I wished I could but if I get lost in Fremont, someplace I'm vaguely familiar with, I'd be doomed in Berkeley. He offered to let me sleep in his dorm room. I pointed out that his roommate might take offense at my snoring. He agreed I snore loudly. lol

When I saw the BART sign, I was so excited that I started barking it like a little dog. He laughed and said to stop because I was weirding him out. lol

He left with instructions to call me when he got to his dorm so I knew he got home OK. He did.

I guess I didn't weird him out too much because he's asked if I'll pick him, his roommate and another dorm friend up at BART tomorrow to go to the Shuttle launch. I'd already offered to do that, so I said I would. Tonight when we were confirming our plans, I told him I'd behave so I wouldn't embarrass him. He said not to worry, he knows I have the inner kid thing going. Somehow I suspect he's told these other boys about this and is hoping I'll be silly to amuse them. teehee!

I just hope the launch goes OK. The cracked and broken foam on the external fuel tank feels really ominous to me.

After the launch, I'll deliver them back to BART to go up to Jonathan's grandmother's house. They're going to watch fireworks together where she lives.
