Today all I have is work and CCNA4 class. All, I say. lol It's enough normally. Oh, I do have to do some grocery shopping on the way home. We're almost out of catfood and diet pepsi.

Tomorrow I have PT and a tooth root extraction and if I'm in decent shape, work.

Wednesday Mom gets the lump removed from under her arm. My sister isn't sure if she can take time off or not, because it's testing time in school. It all hinges on whether she can get this one sub she likes a lot to keep her class in order. I'm just going to take the day off and be there, either way and then go to lab after Mom is settled at home. Sherrie is willing to spend the late afternoon and evening with her either way so I can get my labs done. I hope she gets the day off because it's a lot more fun hanging out with her than waiting by myself during Mom's surgery.

Thursday it's PT, work, homework and Windows 2003 Exchange Server class. I'll try to put in more hours at work to make up the ones I missed on Tuesday.

Friday it's work, homework and Windows XP Troublshooting Applications with Users class. I'll try to put in more hours at work to make up the ones I miss on Wednesday.

Thankfully, my muscles are relaxing in my neck and the pain from the injections is gone. Yay for that! Relaxing most of the weekend paid off!

Saturday night Eric went to bed before I did. I was just about ready to head for bed myself when I heard a cat crunching dry cat food in a hurry and very loudly. Our girls are usually quiet about eating dry food but it didn't occur to me there was a problem until Miss Cactus came through the living room in a hurry all puffed up. Scampi stirred out of her slumber on my lap and stared toward the pet door to the garage. That's when I realized the crunching wasn't from one of our girls. I never heard the pet door, but I'm so used to it now that I don't hear it. Well now, that's an interesting turn of events. There's a gray and white male cat hanging around our yard since Lee-Roy died. Miss Cactus doesn't go outside much because he beats her up. He hangs out right by the door that leads from our garage to the backyard. We've had it propped open just enough for the cats with a bunch of heavy ladders behind it so nobody can get it open farther. So it seems he or some other creature is now coming in to eat! I thought the crunchies were disappearing too fast.

For Saturday night, I just slid the metal door into the slot on the pet door in the kitchen. Both girls freaked. That usually means vet. But they looked confused because vet doesn't happen in the middle of the night. They settled down pretty quickly. Miss Cactus bugged me a bunch of times about not being able to go out, but she eventually snuggled up and went to sleep.

With news that the bird flu is expected to hit here in three to four months it's probably a good idea to begin the process of turning Miss Cactus into an indoor only cat. She's not as insistant about going out as my old Boo used to be. I think she'll adapt. Besides that, we're eventually going to adopt another kitty for Eric. All the adoption agencies want people to promise to keep the cats indoors. We might as well be able to be truthful when we promise.

So yesterday, I took our gardening spade and dug the sand/dirt bar up from the immediate doorway to the back yard and pushed the door closed. The latches are all engaged. Miss Cactus can only go in and out if we let her. I left enough of the sand/dirt bar to prevent flood water from running through our garage. Our patio floods, you see. Hopefully, we won't need flood prevention anymore this year. We seem to be in our summer weather pattern, finally.
