Hi ho hi ho it's back to work I go
Oct. 20th, 2005 09:03 amToday I'm finally feeling alive again even though I'm still congested and coughing. Yesterday I showered and started to get dressed for work and had to lie back down. After a little rest, I called in sick again. Then I proceeded to sleep most of the day. Finally, able to sleep. That was the worst part of this illness. I hurt too much to sleep.
Monday, the UPS guy came to the door with a box addressed to Eric. I was too bleary eyed to bother reading the package and put it on his chair. When he got home he said, "They sure disguised this well!" They'd just stuck a mailing label onto the digital camera he ordered for me from the HP employees discontinued products page. It's a 4 megapixel camera for me!! YAY! I told him it was too bad that it didn't come before Bonfante Gardens. He agreed. I was too sick to get too excited, but it did bring a big smile to my face and I did thank him profusely. When he showed it to me on the HP website I said, "Gosh wouldn't it be great if I got that for Christmas?" He didn't want to wait that long. :) He's my sweet, wonderful, love of my life!
One of the first pictures I'll take is of the Golden Orb Weaver spider that has built an enormous web in our back yard. The web spans five feet from a volunteer holly tree next to the house over to the persimmon tree. I'll have to snap it at dusk, because these spiders are nocturnal. She's not the biggest one I've ever seen but I know she'll grow. I think I need to fix our bedroom screen before she has babies. I don't want those huge things moving in no matter how harmless they supposedly are. I first saw them when I lived in a cottage up in the foothills. I thought they were forest spiders, but here this one is in our back yard! Our neighbor's hedge harbors tarantulas, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that other woodland creatures live here.
The kitties will miss using the screen as a pet door to get out, but too bad for them! Boo created that pet door long ago. Heck, he's been gone five years. See how lazy we are? Hopefully, he didn't teach the others how to punch through a screen.
Ugh, I wish this headache would go away. I hope I have enough energy to go to school tonight and do this week's router labs. If not, I'll be spending all day Saturday there. I've got three classes to catch up on now. Bleh. Makes me want to go back to bed.
Somehow I think Saturday will be lab day.
