My thoughts and prayers are with you again today. I hope none of you have been touched by the bombings in any way.

I remember watching Star Trek when it was new

I loved "Scotty" because he was such a miracle worker! His ability to solve impossible problems under pressure was inspiring. Somehow I knew if I had been on a real starship, my job would have been in his department and that was fine with me. There was an aura of goodness about him that came from the person, not the role. If I'd had the chance to know him IRL, I know I would have liked him.

Rest in peace, James Doohan, and thanks for touching the lives of so many people in a positive way. May your ashes get into space soon so you can truly experience space travel. I know you already have in spirit.
