What a wonderful gathering at [livejournal.com profile] yeoww's house on Sunday! It was so great to see [livejournal.com profile] vwsrmylife and her adorable son again! [livejournal.com profile] yeoww and I only met her once before when she needed help stripping the paint off her house and we drove the 2.5 hours there to help. Wheee! That was a fun day using that high-powered water thing to peel the front of her house!

Our long-time IRL friend [livejournal.com profile] finickynarcane came with her SO. It's only the second time I've met him and this time we got to know each other a bit. [livejournal.com profile] yeoww's kids kept [livejournal.com profile] vwsrmylife's son entertained so we got in a great visit. There's nothing like good friends to make a person's life full.

The fourth was a mostly quiet day, for us anyway. Several somebodies in our neighborhood had lots of M80's and something else that went BOOM Fffffffff and set them off all day and most of the night. When the one down the street from us joined in with the booming of the city fireworks by setting off M80 after M80, I told Eric I was tempted to call the cops but I figured they were busy enough as it was. He turned on his shortwave scanner and we heard the dispatcher reporting "Firecrackers on (our street)" so somebody else did it for me! LOL It quieted down on our street soon after that. The BOOM Ffffffff from elsewhere kept happening until after midnight. Stupid kids.

Mornings and I are old adversaries. Of course, I'm still feeling tired from finals... or was it Disneyland? Hopefully my brain will adjust and let me go to sleep at a decent hour now that I'm getting up at 6ish.

I ate lunch at the cafeteria by myself, hoping to see my fellow interns there. The only one I saw was eating with her department. After poking around in the gift shop to see what they had (mostly NASA shirts and junk good for stocking stuffers), I headed back out through the cafeteria and was shocked to see [livejournal.com profile] yeoww's STBX (soon to be ex) standing in line. Oh. He works in environmental services. I never realized where exactly he worked. Ewww! I don't think he saw me. If he did, he was ignoring me the way I did him when he came to pick up a kid on Sunday. I know too much to be friendly to him.

Mid-afternoon I got my official NASA badge. I'm getting to know my way around the base and all the guards at the posts. I'm official! I can now buy NASA shirts and all those junky things at 10% off!

Today I plan to get a form from the gym so I can get my doctor's approval to exercise there. :)
