I've got three good pictures of my Braticus that qualify for [livejournal.com profile] rateyourratty's "Hiding Ratties" theme and I love all three. It's most likely because I love him so much that I'm biased.

What do you think?

[Poll #483875]
It was silly to think any of my friends might believe such myths. :)

Here's the trigger for yesterday's poll: In my voice-over class last weekend a fellow student was a retired pro-football player. The whole class was men aside from me. The booth engineer was female as were all three of the teachers we had.

The only time I've ever been in another class where I was the only woman was when they'd had a last minute cancellation in the Sports Announcing class and nobody else could fill it. Talk about a fish out of water! I did surprisingly well just from second-hand exposure via my uncle when I was a kid. Luckily we had scripts to read because I had no idea what the plays were called.

Anyway, back to last Friday/Saturday's class. All the men in the class were starry eyed at this guy's presence. He's in his 50's and used to be a big name in the Raiders. I have no clue what he played or anything. I'm so not into sports, (i.e. Men earning big money playing with balls and people paying money to watch).

Before class started Saturday morning, this guy tells a blond joke to one of the other students. It was an old joke. I happened to be sitting next to him at the time and gently told him, "My sister calls those bleached blond jokes."

He said, "She must be blond."

I said, "Yes, and incredibly intelligent."

He said, "There's always exceptions."

It was clear to me he really believes blondes are dumber in general. Later during lunch break he announced to the whole class that he had a new joke and told it again. The booth engineer and I exchanged glances and rolled our eyes.

I figured he must be pretty dumb to be so clueless. Because of his celebrity status, people probably don't tell him when he's being stupid. He's a nice guy. He can do a dead-on John Wayne imitation and was delighted to do it when I pointed out one commercial from the day he could have used it on. He read the first few lines of the copy EXACTLY the way "The Duke" would have and his eyes were sparkling like crazy. He's cute. Dumb, but cute.

It takes all kinds!
