Restaurant review

My friend finickynarcane and I went out to dinner to a new (to me) Ethiopian restaurant on The Alameda last Thursday. We had the vegetarian platter with Yebeg Tibs, a juicy lamb selection. Yum! I particularly liked the combination of spices they used. We ordered it "medium" spicy because we didn't know how hot that would be. There was hardly any hotness to it at all. Next time, I plan on ordering "hot." We couldn't quite finish the food because we got so full. It was so good we really wanted to finish it!

If you like Ethiopian food and haven't tried Queen of Sheba at 1860 The Alameda in San Jose, then you really should! The prices were quite reasonable.

If you haven't tried Ethiopian food before, it's an experience. The food is served on a communal platter and eaten by hand with injerra, a soft, slightly rubbery, textured pan bread.
