I'll post later in detail, but here's a list of what's been going on with me.
yeoww and I went up to see
callmyname last week. Not only did we not get lost (miracle) but we had a wonderful visit! Lovely, sweetheart she is!
Cleaned house like a crazy person and barely made a dent. Joined http://www.flylady.com at my sister's suggestion. It's a site that helps a person learn how to get their house clean and keep it that way. I'm already behind. heehee
Picked up Jon, the younger of "my boys" in Modesto, gave Brandon the elder all the train and bus info with maps and fares to get to us the next day and went to a major amusement park with Jon, my friend Karen and her boy on Saturday. Met Brandon outside the gates when the park closed. Kept the two boys overnight and spoiled them. Ahhhh! I've missed them so much! We still have more to catch up on. They have been converted to rat lovers now. They fed the brRaticus so many pistachios and yogies that he got all itchy from too much protein. All better now.
Fought our new printer trying to print my CD covers. Still haven't totally won. Gave demo CDs to my chiropractor and shrink. They were thrilled.
Did big grocery shopping including ingredients to make tollhouse cookies. Will get the dough ready and bake cookies when the CDs are ready. Then I'll go to the three agencies in San Francisco and present them with my CD, resume and a plate of cookies. It's a way to bribe people to listen to it instead of tossing it in the trash. Then I'll go see
callmyname while I'm up there.
Talked to two different people at the IRS to see how I can get a duplicate EIN certificate for the family non-profit. Now I know that the thing I need is called an EIN! (Employer Identification Number) I've got the number but they can't find us because it's inactive. To get the duplicate I need to send a letter with:
1. the number
2. the year the application was turned in or a range of years to check
3. the city and state that was on it
4. why I need it
5. who I am
Naturally, the binder I have doesn't go back far enough to cover the early meetings. I called our historian and he has some stuff but not all. He's going to dig through the old meeting notes to see when they last talked about getting non-profit status. I'm guessing they stopped talking about it when it happened.
Yikes! Gotta get the dishes done and some stuff picked up before Eric comes home so it looks like I've done something around here!
