Why is it that when I can't stop drifting into sleep when I'm sitting in the livingroom with the TV blaring and a laptop computer in my lap that when I go to bed the sleepiness leaves me?
Ambien knocks me out. I don't remember any dreams. The one night I took it, Eric had to wake me up because the alarm didn't do it. Then I was so groggy until afternoon that I felt stoned. Maybe that would have been fun at one time in my life, but it sucks for me now.
I was so sleepy last night that I skipped the sleeping pill that made me so groggy for half the day yesterday. By the time I realized I needed it, it was too late to take it and still get up in the morning. Once I did manage to go to sleep I kept having really vivid dreams and waking up. Once Miss Cactus woke me. I guess she was worried. I had to pretend to snore to get her to leave me alone. Lee-Roy insisted on waking me up at 5:30am. Brat.
Hopefully I'll get all the sleep I need this weekend and get back to a healthy sleeping pattern.
Rat news
I'm still trying to find a home for Ratty. He's so cute that I'd love to keep him, but I have to admit I'm not vigilant enough on cage cleanings to keep him healthy. Plus he hides most of the time in the little house I got him. He did wrestle with my finger last night! He's a playful little guy!
A couple of nights ago I cooked Zatarain's Spicy Rice mix to go with chicken and salad. I gave Ratty a Snapple lid full of rice. He didn't see me put it in his cage, but smelled it on my thumb as I took my hand back out again. He stood up on his hind legs and caught the end of my thumb with his teeth. Holding my thumb firmly without pinching it at all, he pulled my hand back down to the bottom of the cage, grabbed my thumb with his little hands and licked the end of my thumb thoroughly. You should have seen how excited he was when I showed him the lid-full of rice! He ate half of it right away then went to sleep in his house. By morning, the other half was gone and the lid had been moved across the cage against his house. The next night I cooked broccoli cheddar rice. He didn't like that much at all.
He is such a dear creature!
