Two traveling angels

Keep reading to the bottom of the page -- don't
stop at the feet (You'll see).

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night
in the home of a wealthy family.

The family was rude and refused to let the angels
stay in the mansion's guest room.

Instead the angels were given a small space in
the cold basement.

As they made their bed on the hard floor, the
older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.

When the younger angel asked why, the older angel
replied,

"Things aren't always what they seem."

The next night the pair came to rest at the house
of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his
wife.

After sharing what little food they had the couple
let the angels sleep in their bed where they could
have a good night's rest.

When the sun came up the next morning the angels
found the farmer and his wife in tears.

Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole
income, lay dead in the field.

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the
older angel how could you have let this happen?

The first man had everything, yet you helped him,
she accused.

The second family had little but was willing to
share everything, and you let the cow die.

"Things aren't always what they seem," the older
angel replied.

"When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I
noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the
wall.

Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and
unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the
wall so he wouldn't find it."

"Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed,
the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him
the cow instead.

Things aren't always what they seem."

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things
don't turn out the way they should. If you have
faith, you just need to trust that every out come
is always to your advantage. You just might not
know it until some time later...

SOMEBODY NEEDS YOU TO SEND THIS TO THEM
=====
Never take away anyone's hope. That may be all they have
My tradition:
I take my parents a bouquet of daisies with a single red rose for each of them in the center.

Note: This is a bouquet I "invented" when I was a toddler. I heard that red roses meant love and I decided on my own that daisies meant happiness. I handed my mom a red rose bud surrounded by a grubby little handful of lawn daisies. That combination is my special bouquet.

This year:
I had a florist make up two bouquets. She didn't have regular daisies, but she had those huge gerbera(??) daisies. I had her put six red roses in each bouquet. I think extra love is needed this year. They wrapped my dad's in cellophane for the cemetery.

I'll visit my Dad's grave for the first time today. I'm ready. Don't worry. I have plenty of tissues.

**** Random update

Work project is running a little late but the boss is OK with it.

**** Another Random update

Fixed my mom's computer Monday night. It had been acting odd since before Dad died. Around the time he died it stopped letting her do her shockwave jigsaw puzzle anymore. She switched over to Dad's computer for that. Then she decided to delete some of the shareware games she had on it in case it was just too full to work properly. Then it stopped booting correctly and wouldn't let her go online OR play any games that required CD ROMs. That's when she called me. I went over and poked around. I noticed one of the programs she thought she had deleted still showed up in the directory and it had an uninstaller program. I asked how she had deleted it and she said she'd used the Windows uninstaller program. I ran the program's own uninstaller and it cleaned up the rest of its stuff. It was still missing some Windows drivers when we tried to connect to the internet, so I gambled and reinstalled her browser from the CD. The CD drive is flakey. I had to boot the PC and use it before running anything else, or it wouldn't work. But I figured that out and got her browser reinstalled.

Voila! She now has a fully functional system again!

She fed me dinner and we visited for a while. She says the house gets very empty. I've GOT to spend more time with her. I'm going to drive her to a family reunion in Modesto in May. We'll get a long visit in then!

I need your help.

My mom's best friend is fighting Multiple Myeloma. It's another blood-based cancer not too different from the Hodgkin's Lymphoma that killed my dad. She's going through chemo to control it - it's incurable - and isn't doing well right now. My mom really loves Margaret and to lose her so close to Dad would really make it difficult for her.

Could you please send Margaret some prayers?

Thanks! I love you all!
