We've got a multinational group of people and I'm curious!

Among my friends here in the states, there are a variety of nicknames people have for their grandparents. Some of them are cultural, some of them aren't. Since I called both my grandmothers "Gramma" and my one grandfather "Grampa" I grew up thinking everybody called them by those names. Since then I've heard Nana, Nanny, Nan, Mamaw, M'Dear, Grammy, Damma, Pep among others for grandmothers; and Papa, Papaw, Pawpaw, Grampy and others for grandfathers. What do/did you call yours?

when my 20 year old sister was a baby, she invented "gammy" and "gampy". someone couldn't stop laughing when i said gammy once because apparently it's from seinfeld??

gampy decided a couple years ago that he wanted to be grandpa. not to brag, but he really wanted people to know we were his grandkids. aww!

"Damma" was a baby name that stuck to my aunt. It was hilarious because it fit so well!

Bubbe and Zayde are Yiddish, in case you were wondering. That's on my dad's side. My mom's side is Grandmom and Poppy.

Cool! I knew Bubbe from an old roommate. But she never talked about her grandfather.
