Well, the headhunters like me!

I've already had three recruiters email or leave messages for me. They all sound like they have good jobs for me. Whee!

My cousin Tom is a recruiter, too. I've emailed him asking what the ethics are on using recruiters. Naturally, if I should only pick one, he's it.

I used to follow his band Chante around after Juice Newton went solo. I was too young to get in during most of his years as part of Juice Newton and Silver Spur, though my parents took me to Mountain Charley's to see them when I was 18. I had to promise not to drink. One of my slightly older cousins who was there with a fake ID tried to get me to drink, but I promised. When I promise something, that's how it is.

I have the first two Juice Newton and Silver Spur albums. Should have gotten them autographed when I had the chance, I guess.

good luck with the interviews!

Juice Newton was one of my favorite singers when I was little. My parents have pictures of me dancing around their bedroom in my nightgown to their Juice records. "Queen of Hearts" was the first song I ever learned to sing! :D

She was amazing in person. The last time I saw them play just before she dumped Silver Spur, she had a case of laryngitis you wouldn't believe. Somehow she managed to sing despite it. She wasn't very friendly, though. Maybe she was feeling too ill. Of course, maybe she had already decided to take the record company deal on her own and had weird feelings about Tom's family, knowing how we'd all feel when we got the news. Their one minor hit at the time was a song Tom wrote.

Tom wishes her well. They're all still friends. He says the more successful she was, the more CD's of the original band sold. I missed the CD's, darn it. My vinyl albums are all worn out.

Your cousin played with Juice Newton?! She was one of my first pop idols! My first 45 I ever bought was one of hers.

Yup, until just before she hit it big. One of the record company's conditions was no band.
