Whoa, how cool!

My cousin Tom used to be part of a band called Juice Newton and Silver Spur. It was back in the early to mid 1970s when they were a San Francisco bay area local band. I just found a webpage with their first album covers! My cousin is the guy on the right in this picture. He's mostly grey now. hehehe! He's my oldest cousin.

you mean juice newton as in... "just call me angel", and "queen of hearts" and all that stuff?

Yup! I hope success has had a positive effect on her attitude. She was sure a snot back then. She had to dump Silver Spur to make the big time.

Tom's philisophical about it though. The more successful she is, the more of her old records sell and the more royalty checks he gets! Besides, when they were recording either this album or the next one, Paul McCartney had the studio next and they chatted for a while. That experience alone was incredible!

my parents tell me that I used to dance around their bedroom in my diaper and Monchichi nightgown to "Queen of Hearts." It's the first favorite song I remember. :)

awesome coincidence!

That was after she went solo, so I don't have that one on vinyl. But I've got both of the first albums. I was so put off by her rudeness to me that I never asked for them to sign the covers. Darn it.

I used to love that song, and "Love's Been a Little Bit Hard on Me" and "Angel of the Morning". It reminds me of when MTV first came out. I remember "The Sweetest Thing" too.

I learned to sing country by playing the first album over and over and singing along. I also liked my cousin's songs a lot. He wrote and sang "You Please Me" and "Love Me One More Time" (which the band jokingly called "Love Me From Behind"). LOL

He still looks the same except that his hair is grey. We have the same "youthful look" genes! He was a typical musician for years though he's been married to Susie (his fourth wife) now for more than 15 years.

He sounds a lot like Rick Nelson.
