Fear of success

I was talking to Minh at work at the end of yesterday. The contract for the people I've been working with is changing to another company. It's interesting how that works. The new contractor hires all the people working there except for the managers the original contractor sent out. Minh is the brother-in-law of the original contractor so he is leaving. I'm going to miss him. He's funny and we make each other laugh. I'm glad for his family back in Indiana, though. He has two little girls who hardly know their father.

I wrote about chasing the UPS guys didn't I? The contract was supposed to switch over a few months ago but due to complications it didn't happen until this week. Minh is packing up his stuff. I gave him a poster of my Scamperdoo because he loved the one in my cubicle so much. Yesterday I forgot to bring a shirt to change into after PT and was wearing my "Boomer Babes Invade..." shirt. He didn't know I'd drawn that, too. He thinks I should get large quantities of my stuff from cafepress.com and sell it on ebay.

That scares me. What if it goes out of control? I guess I could buy a few things to test the waters. If I get things I could use or give as gifts if they don't sell, it would be OK.

He looked up "cat t-shirt" and mine is much better than what we saw... Hmm....

If I made money with my art, I could afford to stay an intern for another year and have a better chance of finding a permanent job at NASA. I'm very tempted to try this.

So, do you like old style mages or new style? The new style are what Disney has.

well, what I'm referring to specifically (and my apologies) is the Comic Book MAGE by Matt Wagner.

The first part in his series, that is.

The Mage in this one is Mirth--and there are a whole cast of characters I love there, too...

But I do love any kind of mages, period. And faeries, of course.

Someone else's characters are usually copyrighted. I could possibly draw one with the flavor of someone else's.

I love faeries, too. Are you familiar with Sulamith Wulfing? Hers are my favorites. I'm not sure I'm up for doing something like hers. I'd have to really work it,

Yup. He's copyrighted his stuff....but I still love it. *grin*

Ah, well. You draw a MAGE that you think suits ME and is like my personality...which you should know pretty well by now! :)

I think I've seen some of her work...I like those goth faeries, too....i just love faeries.

*grin*

Is this Mage?

If it is, he doesn't look like a mage to me. He looks more like a warrior.

Nope. That's Kevin Matchstick. Mirth is the Mage and he has white hair.

And yup...Kevin is becoming a warrior...at least in the first part of the series...
