sugarplumkitty: (Lee-Roy)

Aww, we sure have a wonderful vet!

There was a small envelope in the midst of my pile of mail when I got in from class tonight. The return address was our vet's office. I opened it to find a sympathy card, which got me weepy in itself, but inside were paragraphs from five people who work there all saying how special Lee-Roy was and how they're going to miss him a lot, too. I had to keep wiping tears to be able to read them all. I cried more than Eric did when he read it. Our vet said he was "an incredibly special boy."

Naturally, I keep thinking about him when I'm not involved in work or school. Today I was thinking about our last conversation, his side of it spoken with his eyes and mine explaining we had to see if these people could help him. I spoke plain old English to him. I always spoke plain old English to him. Our girls respond to baby talk. Lee-Roy responded to normal conversation. He pointedly didn't respond to baby talk. It was insulting. (tail jerk, *snort*)

We've definitely passed the extremely weepy part of our grief. Now we're laughing more and more about his quirks and obsessions.

I'm creating thank-you cards for both sets of vets with my favorite pictures of Lee-Roy. You saw them last week.

All your Lee-Roy posts make me weepy. But I had a lovely cuddle on the couch with Blueberry in the crook of my arm. I'm enjoying every moment I can.

I'm sorry to make you weepy! Of course, I always get weepy with friends' losses, too.

Give that boy a kiss on top of his head and then on each ear for me, please!

(((((((((((hugs))))))))))
