The bratty teen years are over
Oct. 20th, 2008 07:50 amThe cooler weather is also bringing a change to our Squeaker baby. She has had a kitten game of acting like she wants love then running away from us in the hope we'll chase her. That seems to be mostly gone now. She acts like she wants love now and lets us pet her most of the time... She climbs up in someone's lap to be held while she naps. Eric snapped this photo of her last week as she snuggled with me.
The latest thing is for her to go to sleep on my side of the bed with her head on my pillow in the late evening. Last night, she was still there when I went to bed. She pretended to be fast asleep even after I petted her and got her rumble-purring. Eric laughed as I slid in from the side a little at a time, pretending to snuggle her as I pushed my way into bed. She grumbled but stayed relaxed, sliding over a little but ending up on my shoulder, pressed up against my cheek.
Miss Cactus wanted to stand on that shoulder where she usually does to get her usual "Mommy-Daddy love" as we call it, when we both pet her at once. Squeakers wouldn't budge for her, either. Cactus is a gentle soul and went to her usual sleeping spot instead, once I got scooted over enough to make room for her.
Eric asked if I wanted him to move Squeakers but I declined saying she was so nice and warm. She was, you know, soft and warm in our chilly bedroom.
At some point she left after I fell asleep.
Squeakers experiences bliss! |
