Job interview tomorrow!!!!!
Nov. 15th, 2006 12:06 amEEK! I'm nervous!
It's with a company that provides network design/installation/support and a lot of other tech services. They're looking for an in-house Network Administrator/IT helpdesk person and it's all with windows and mac OSes!! No linux! No Solaris! No SQL! Wheeeeee!
Downsides: It's in Redwood City which is a 40 minute drive at rush hour and they want the person to be on call. The list of duties is quite long, it's a little daunting. If the on-call isn't all the time, I guess I can handle that. Don't like being on-call.
Upsides: It's right next to the train station, so if I could get to the train at this end, I could commute via mass-transit. It's perfect for expanding my abilities. They actually recruited during my CCNP1 class last week because they're looking for bright students. YEAH!
My resume wasn't finished from my Internship resume workshop and was on my PC at NASA. We didn't work Friday. Monday I was so busy I forgot to email it to myself. Today I got it revamped, ran it past the internship coordinator in charge of resume workshops, wrote a cover letter mentioning the needs of their company gleaned from their website and how I would be a perfect fit and with my supervisor's blessing faxed it off about 4PM today. I checked my email from the Cisco lab while Robert was configuring his router and there was an email from the contact person saying she had a 3:30PM slot open for an interview tomorrow and to please let her know if I could make it. WHEEEEE! Naturally, I called her immediately and accepted the time slot.
Wish me luck!
