more photos from Golden Gate Park
Aug. 18th, 2004 11:29 amI love Golden Gate Park. It's so pretty. There are surprises around every corner. Ever since I started taking an alternate route through the city to get to Sausalito, I've been going through a section of the park and watching the seasons change. This one area is so pretty that I've wanted to stop with my camera for months. Finally I saw something so beautiful that I HAD to stop. This tree is being climbed by nasturtiums. Isn't it pretty? There's a homeless emcampment very close by. From the way they were carrying on at the picnic ground - with each other, not me - I wondered if these pictures would be my last. It was fine.

Nearly ready to work!
Aug. 18th, 2004 12:03 pmWell, I guess my ECE certificate only exists in my head unless I have it tucked in a box somewhere in the box jungle of the garage. Back in 1976 they didn't track certificates given at my junior college. The units I took still exist in the records but not the certificate I busted my hump to get. I've moved at least 12 times and had an apartment manager decide my belongings in a locker were abandoned and threw them out. Whether the certificate is just buried or gone, it doesn't matter. I don't have it now. Hopefully my transcripts will be enough.
My AA from De Anza is replaceable. It's MIA too.
Getting a TB test yesterday took 2.5 hours of waiting. I got to visit with babies and a Ukrainian family. A woman is hosting her brother's emigration with his son. I thought they were all one family because her two children look so much like their cousin. The family was speaking amongst themselves in Russian but her two kids kept asking her for things in English. I told them I thought it was cool that they were bilingual. Their mom said they didn't appreciate it. I told them they could get jobs someday just because they know two languages! The little girl grinned. The man and boy only came to the US last week. Neither speaks any English.
The test on my arm is almost invisible already.
Tomorrow I take the test for my old school district's preschool opening. Please send me supportive thoughts between 8am-10am Pacific time!
Thanks!
